Key Responsibilities and Achievements:


EXPERIENCE

  • Strengthen Bidirectional Linkages: Ensure robust connections between health facilities and communities while enhancing activities aligned with the 90-90-90 targets.

  • Establish and Maintain Relationships: Foster strong relationships between AWAC and all four affiliated facilities, ensuring seamless collaboration and support.

  • Conduct Monthly Feedback Meetings: Lead monthly feedback and strategy sessions with peer educators and CHLEGS, perform lost-to-follow-up visits to identify clients for PrEP or ART/TB refills/DiC visits, and manage visits to special cases. These meetings are documented thoroughly.

  • Support CHLEG Establishment: Facilitate the formation of CHLEGs as adherence and case-finding support groups, with five CHLEGs established in Kampala district and monitored monthly.

  • Supervise and Monitor Staff: Provide support supervision and monitor the Project

  • Counselor, Data Clerk, Clinician, Peer Educators, and CHLEG Coordinators to ensure effective project implementation. Conduct annual appraisals for these staff members, sharing results to improve performance and filing appraisal forms in their records.

  • Monitor Peer Educators: Oversee peer educators both at health facilities and in the community/hotspots, conducting quarterly appraisals and motivating top performers with gifts.

  • Weekly Monitoring and Evaluation: Conduct weekly monitoring and evaluation, data collection,and validation, ensuring successful implementation with thorough documentation.

  • Hotspot Mapping and Profiling: Perform hotspot mapping and profiling of hotspots

    and service providers in Kampala and Wakiso Districts.

  • Data Management: Ensure proper storage and usage of community data

    tools/registers, manage time reporting, and update psychosocial-related data by the

    community, districts, and health facilities.


 

SOCIAL ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT OFFICER, 01/2018 - 12/2020

Alliance of Women Advocating for Change (AWAC)

Key Responsibilities and Achievements:

  • Assessed and Supported High-Risk Individuals: Evaluated Female Sex Workers (FSWs), Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) at high risk, and youth for eligibility to receive support for starting small businesses through the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Successfully assisted 51 individuals in developing business plans, completing tenancy agreements, and submitting them to IOM offices.

  • Facilitated Comprehensive Training: Coordinated and delivered training for 30 beneficiaries in essential areas such as financial literacy, business planning, customer service, business management, and record-keeping. This training was provided with support from Enterprise Uganda and IOM to enhance the beneficiaries' business skills.

  • Monitored and Supported Beneficiaries: Oversaw the progress of 30 beneficiaries who received support to start businesses in Kampala's slum areas. Provided ongoing financial support and encouraged behavior change to mitigate their vulnerability to HIV. Although the project concluded in 2020, some beneficiaries continue to share their progress with the AWAC team.

  • Evaluated and Supervised CHLEGs: Monitored and assessed the performance of three Community Health Livelihood and Enhancement Groups (CHLEGs). Ensured the accuracy of data submitted, provided support supervision, and adhered to AWAC Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) until the project's end in 2020.
