The scope of work for the consultancy services under the Environmental and Social Audit for the Project involves conducting a comprehensive audit of various field activities within the project.

The consultant will evaluate the effectiveness of the project’s environmental and social management systems, ensuring compliance with both the World Bank's Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) and Uganda’s Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) laws.

This will include assessing the environmental and social risks and impacts associated with activities in 27 Central Forest Reserves (CFRs), 1 National Park, and 4 Wildlife Protected Areas, which are closely integrated with local communities dependent on these areas for subsistence agriculture.

The consultant will identify gaps in the existing systems, propose corrective actions, and recommend improvements to enhance the sustainability and socio-environmental compliance of the project’s operations.

The consultancy will involve field visits, stakeholder consultations, data collection, and detailed reporting on the findings and recommendations.
