The Secretary Education Service Commission would like to inform the general public that the Commission has advertised various posts that exist in the Training Institutions of Vocational, Technical Colleges and UPIK under TVET and University Education and Training Departments in the Ministry of Education and Sports.
Equipment Maintenance and Repair:
Routine Maintenance: Performing regular inspections and maintenance of workshop tools and machinery to ensure they are in good working condition.
Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and fixing mechanical, electrical, or technical issues with equipment.
Repairs: Conducting repairs on faulty equipment and machinery to minimize downtime.
Workshop Management:
Inventory Management: Keeping track of tools, equipment, and materials inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels.
Organization: Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
Equipment Setup: Setting up equipment and tools for specific projects or tasks.
Technical Support:
Assistance: Providing technical support and assistance to other workshop users, such as engineers, students, or technicians.
Training: Instructing users on the correct and safe use of workshop equipment and tools.
Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment usage.
Safety and Compliance:
Safety Protocols: Ensuring all safety protocols and regulations are followed within the workshop.
Risk Assessment: Conducting risk assessments and implementing safety measures to prevent accidents and injuries.
Compliance: Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations regarding equipment and tool usage.
Project Assistance:
Fabrication: Assisting in the fabrication and assembly of components for various projects.
Prototyping: Supporting the development of prototypes by providing technical expertise and equipment setup.
Collaboration: Working collaboratively with engineers, designers, and other professionals on project requirements.

Educational Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent: Typically required, with coursework in technical subjects being advantageous.
Technical Certification: Certification or diploma in a relevant technical field, such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or industrial maintenance, is often preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using and maintaining a variety of workshop tools and machinery.
Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose and repair equipment issues.
Mechanical Aptitude: Good understanding of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, and technical drawings.
Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure precision in maintenance and repair tasks.
Experience:
Practical Experience: Hands-on experience working in a workshop environment, typically ranging from 1-3 years depending on the complexity of the role.
Specialized Experience: Experience in a specific industry (e.g., automotive, manufacturing, education) may be required depending on the job.
Professional Skills:
Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with colleagues and documenting work.
Teamwork: Ability to work well in a team environment, providing support and assistance as needed.
Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
Physical Requirements:
Manual Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling tools and performing precise tasks.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform physically demanding tasks.

Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding and practical knowledge of workshop equipment and tools.
