The Warehouse Manager manages the warehousing function of the OpCo, to ensure safe, efficient and effective warehousing and internal distribution processes to optimally support the OpCo’s production and delivery of products to customers according to the agreed standards and time frames.
The Warehouse Manager provides leadership and operational direction to warehouse personnel. Responsible for all supervisory activities including, but not limited to, warehouse, storage, control and distribution of goods.
Long term footprint:
Develops, maintains and documents, policies, processes and procedures for
Safe and legally compliant warehousing and logistics operations
Efficient and cost-effective storage and movement of materials and products within the warehouse and throughout the production system.
Analyses and reports on the performance, capacity, and volume of warehousing activities for use in short- and long-term strategic planning.
Warehouse and Inventory Management:
Ensures receipt of all deliveries according to company procedures (labeling, dating, FIFO principles, etc.) and oversees placement into warehouse. Mon tors the space layout plan utilization to ensure it continues to meet company standards.
In charge of inventory accuracy and assets though stock take / inventory controls and monitor / root cause analysis and actions in case of variations
Works closely with other functions (production, planning, S&OP, Purchasing…) and production facilities to ensure that adequate and appropriate inventory and storage is available to meet customer demands. Takes actions to remedy as needed.
Resolves complex issues arising from variances with relevant parties (suppliers, production, customers, customer service, finance and 3rd parties)
Oversees the accurate and timely data entry of all warehouse and related activities into software applications and databases
People management:
Provides leadership to his / her area (i.e. setting individual objectives, reviewing performance and providing ongoing feedback on a(n) (in)formal basis) so that all reports are aware of what they are required to achieve and how they are performing against their objectives. Develops and directs all warehouse personnel, logistics personnel and drivers to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the facility, motivates employees through sincere and concrete feedback and take appropriate action when needed, stimulate team cooperation and mobility and ensure that staff are deployable (quantitatively and qualitatively) and willing to and capable of realizing the set objectives.
Performance Management:
Maximizes delivery efficiency and pickup/delivery performance. The scope of movements includes all items moving between 3PL warehouses, outside warehouses, and customer/vendor locations.
Reviews and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly reports to ensure warehousing and logistics operations are meeting expectation and to identify areas of variance requiring attention and correction; implement corrective action as appropriate. Monitors the performance and makes adjustments as necessary
Continuous improvement:
Continuously reviews methods, techniques and procedures, service providers & costs in order to proactively initiate changes to supply chain channels & ensure products are warehoused effectively at least cost, while supporting efficient customer service. Make recommendations to senior management on programs to improve warehousing.
Compliance:
Ensures the warehouses, internal fleet and all processes and procedures are compliant with insurance, legal licensing requirements and with any national, state and local regulations. Ensures quality and food safety requirements are followed for all products during storage, transit, pickup, and delivery.
Ensures safe practices are followed at all times. Immediately addresses any and all unsafe work conditions

Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data related to warehouse operations, such as inventory levels, order volume, and shipping metrics, to make informed decisions and optimize processes.

Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory tracking software, and other relevant technology tools to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
Customer Focus: Commitment to meeting customer expectations by ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment, efficient delivery processes, and responsive customer service.
Safety Awareness: Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health and safety regulations to protect warehouse staff and minimize the risk of accidents or injuries.
Requirements:
Education: A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is often preferred. Some employers may accept relevant work experience in lieu of formal education.
Experience: Previous experience in warehouse management or a related field is typically required, with progressively responsible roles demonstrating leadership and operational expertise.
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with warehouse operations, inventory management principles, shipping and receiving processes, and industry best practices.
Certifications: Some employers may require or prefer candidates with certifications in logistics or supply chain management, such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).
Computer Skills: Proficiency in using computer software and systems for inventory management, data analysis, and communication is essential.
Physical Stamina: Warehouse managers may need to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions, so physical stamina and fitness may be required.
Leadership Experience: Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Proven ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement process improvements to optimize warehouse operations and achieve performance targets.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members, senior management, clients, and vendors.
Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements governing warehouse operations, including safety standards, labor laws, and transportation regulations.
