Job Description
Government of the Republic of Uganda through the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities (MoTWA) and that of Gender, Labour and Social Development (MGLSD) is implementing the National Apprenticeship Programme in the tourism and hospitality sector.
The programme is aimed at equipping unemployed graduates with work readiness skills along the tourism value chain by promoting employment-based skilling, reskilling, and upskilling in line with the Uganda National Apprenticeship Framework (UNAF 2018), the Employment Act (2006), the Employment Regulations (2011), and the National Employment Policy of Uganda (2011). The Programme is national in character targeting interested individuals from across the country.
Apprentices will train in restaurant and hotel environments, focusing on customer service, order taking, and hospitality operations. This training is part of the National Apprenticeship Programme to enhance job skills.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Welcome and serve guests in restaurants.
Take orders and deliver food and beverages.
Learn customer service techniques and standards.
Maintain cleanliness and professionalism in service areas.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Tourism, Leisure, or Hospitality.
Completed studies between 2020 to 2024.
Must be currently unemployed.
