Transport Manager job at Securex Uganda

Job Description

The transport manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing our transportation operations. Oversee the overall management of the workshop and transport activities and ensure that all equipment and tools are kept safe and maintained in sound working condition.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Routine inspection and maintenance of the fleet of vehicles.

  • Assist in recruitment of drivers and mechanics.

  • Assigning of duties to mechanics and drivers.

  • Appraising performance of drivers and mechanics.

  • Liaising with the purchasing department and advising on purchases of appropriate spare parts.

  • Formulate and Implement strategies to check time loss, theft of spares and misuse of fuel and vehicles.

  • Ensuring that all vehicle insurance, road licenses and inspection are applied in time.

  • Assessment of accident damage costs and dealing with insurance claims.

  • Fueling of vehicles and maintaining fuel consumption records.

  • Ensuring that vehicles are kept clean and in good state of repair.

  • Discipline errant drivers and mechanics.

  • Arranging and coordinating transport requirements for all outside assignments.
