Ashinaga provides financial support and emotional care to young people around the world who have lost either one or both parents. With a history of more than 55 years, our support has enabled more than 110,000 orphaned students to gain access to higher education.

Ashinaga
Ashinaga is a Japan-based NGO that provides educational and emotional assistance to students orphaned by one or both parents. The organization receives financial support only from individuals and private organizations, all of whom remain anonymous.
In a classroom: teaching between five to thirty students, the topics of the classes will be defined according to the experiences and interests of the trainees.
In collaboration with other interns, create an academic program focused on the needs of students.
Advising students on university options abroad and guiding them through the application processes (PEC-G, ENEM, vestibular).
Create an engaging after-school program to encourage bonding among students, as well as develop their leadership skills and self-confidence.

Must be attending a university or have recently graduated (in any field).
Have a student-focused approach and flexibility to adapt teaching materials and methodologies.
Must be flexible and able to work in a new and dynamic environment. (both inside and outside the classroom).
Be able to work with individuals of different beliefs and cultures.
Be proficient in: Portuguese and English (Japanese or French is a plus, but not essential).
Have experience as a mentor and/or have taught, especially disadvantaged students or those who come from different cultures (not essential).
Benefits:

Allowance of 650,000 Ugandan shillings.
Accommodation, within walking distance of our place of work (interns will share residence).
