Strategic Planning and Advisory
Assessment: Conduct assessments of MSMEs and value chains to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategies to strengthen MSMEs and value chain actors, enhancing their productivity, efficiency, and market reach.
Advisory Services: Provide expert advice to MSMEs on best practices in business management, financial planning, and operational efficiency.
Capacity Building
Training Programs: Design and deliver training programs and workshops to build the capacities of MSMEs and value chain actors in areas such as marketing, finance, production, and quality control.
Technical Assistance: Offer tailored technical assistance and mentorship to MSMEs to help them overcome specific challenges and improve their operations.
Resource Development: Develop and disseminate training materials, toolkits, and guidelines to support capacity-building initiatives.
Market Linkages and Development
Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify new market opportunities and trends for MSMEs.
Linkages: Facilitate linkages between MSMEs and larger enterprises, buyers, suppliers, and service providers to enhance market access and integration into value chains.
Networking: Organize and participate in networking events, trade fairs, and business forums to promote MSMEs and foster partnerships.
Financial Inclusion and Access to Capital
Funding Solutions: Assist MSMEs in identifying and accessing appropriate funding sources, including grants, loans, and equity investments.
Financial Literacy: Provide financial literacy training to MSMEs to improve their financial management and planning capabilities.
Investment Readiness: Help MSMEs prepare business plans, financial projections, and investment pitches to attract investors and secure funding.

Educational Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree: A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Economics, Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
Advanced Degree (Preferred): A master’s degree or higher in a related field can be advantageous.
Professional Experience
Relevant Experience: At least 5-7 years of professional experience in areas such as MSME development, value chain analysis, market linkages, business development services, or a related field.
Sector Experience: Experience working in specific sectors relevant to the role, such as agriculture, manufacturing, or services, particularly in developing or emerging markets.
Project Management: Proven experience in managing projects, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
Technical Skills and Competencies
Business Development: Strong understanding of business development services, including business planning, financial management, and marketing for MSMEs.
Value Chain Analysis: Expertise in value chain analysis and development, including identifying constraints and opportunities within value chains.
Capacity Building: Experience in designing and delivering training and capacity-building programs for MSMEs and value chain actors.
Financial Acumen: Knowledge of financial products and services available to MSMEs, including microfinance, grants, and investment opportunities.
Market Linkages: Ability to facilitate market linkages and partnerships between MSMEs, buyers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Policy and Advocacy: Understanding of policy environments and experience in advocating for regulatory reforms beneficial to MSMEs.
Soft Skills and Personal Attributes
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively to various audiences.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct thorough assessments and develop strategic recommendations.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government officials, private sector representatives, and development partners.
Cultural Sensitivity: Experience working in multicultural environments and the ability to adapt to different cultural contexts.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff.
Technical Proficiency
Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with data analysis tools and software.
Digital Literacy: Understanding of digital tools and platforms that can enhance MSME operations, including e-commerce and digital marketing.
