Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Lands Officer, the Surveyor will conduct topographical and boundary surveys across UNMC plantation and infrastructure sites. The role involves preparing detailed land maps, resolving boundary issues, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support land development plans. The successful candidate must have experience with modern surveying equipment and possess strong analytical and mapping skills to contribute to informed land-use decisions.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Conduct topographical, boundary, and elevation surveys on plantation and factory sites
Map out land parcels for cultivation, irrigation, and construction projects
Accurately demarcate land boundaries to prevent encroachments and manage ownership
Analyze survey data to generate maps, reports, and sketches for management use
Maintain accurate records of measurements, field notes, and digital survey data
Prepare maps, charts, and diagrams reflecting contours, elevations, and key land features
Provide regular survey reports to management on land usage and potential discrepancies
Collaborate with agronomists, engineers, and managers on land use and development
Identify suitable land for future expansion of plantations and production facilities
Provide accurate survey data to resolve land disputes, encroachments, or ownership claims

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field
Experience:
Minimum of four (4) years of land surveying experience, preferably in the mineral and industrial sectors
Experience in surveying large-scale agricultural lands and related infrastructure is an added advantage
Key Competencies:
Proficiency in using Total Stations, GPS, Theodolites, and other modern surveying tools
Strong knowledge of land laws, mapping, and surveying principles
Attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and data handling
Strong analytical and spatial problem-solving skills
Ability to prepare technical maps, reports, and diagrams
Age Requirement:25 to 35 years
