Job Description
Job Title: Supervisor Credit Recovery
Organisation: Pride Bank Limited (PBL)
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
The Supervisor Credit Recovery will report to the Manager Credit Recovery and will be based at Head office. He/ she will be responsible for managing the banks identified delinquent portfolio, recommend and implement remedial action for purposes of minimizing the bank’s loss by collecting all monies owed to the bank as guided by the bank’s policy and existing laws.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate and lead the recovery of delinquent loans in line with the debt recovery policies and procedures.
To ensure proper management of assigned credit facilities in default in such a way as to ensure that loss to the Bank is minimized, controlled or avoided.
To review the delinquent portfolio thoroughly to ascertain the causes of the default and recommend remedial action.
Classify the existing and future delinquent accounts into Watch and Problematic / sticky [non-performing].
Assign accounts to external debt collectors upon approval.
Where the accounts have been identified as non-performing, immediately initiate proceedings in close coordination with Legal department, external lawyers and external debt collectors.
Liaise with regional and branch Management teams to coordinate and implement recovery of written off and non-performing loans in line with bank policy and procedure.
Prepare regular reports [with recommendations] on accounts identified for close monitoring and for further recovery action on an ongoing basis and forward them to Departmental and Department al heads.
Train and guide staff on the best practices in the recovery of delinquent loans.
Negotiate with Debtors and ensure that the Debtors repay the bad debts at a lowest cost to the Bank.
Managing contracts between the bank and other persons/institutions providing debt collection services like auctioneers, bailiffs, valuers, insurers and lawyers and monitoring compliance thereof and providing recourse options for non-performing contractors.
Supervise sale of pledged assets and ensure that all amounts in default are paid after settling the outstanding obligations are paid back to the borrower.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
Good track record in credit management and recovery business
Should possess 2 principal passes at A’ level and credits/pass in Mathematics and English at O’level.
At least 4 years’ credit recovery experience in a supervised financial institution with a good understanding of recovery methodologies. Should not be more than 40 years of age.
All Internal staff should have at least good performance rating in the recent appraisal cycles.
