Job Title: Supervisor-Cash Management Operations GLs

As a Supervisor-Cash Management Operations GLs, you will manage assigned general ledgers in alignment with Absa’s policies, ERMF, and the Central Bank’s regulatory framework. You will ensure operational control and effective risk management through testing, monitoring, and cross-functional engagements, and provide support to internal customers as required.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Pursue Growth & Protect Returns (25%)
Minimize financial losses arising from fraud or operational issues by performing daily reconciliations and managing exception items.
Ensure timely resolution of reconciliation issues and minimize unjustifiable or unreconciled balances. Use an escalation matrix as needed.
Adhere to leave utilization guidelines to ensure minimal business disruption.
Customer Service (10%)
Respond to internal customer queries within 24 hours.
Innovate to save time, money, and resources.
Identify process gaps and collaborate with the business to propose solutions.
Conduct periodic meetings with Cash Management Operations to resolve issues.
Colleague Collaboration (35%)
Train reconciliation staff on key procedures, controls, and best practices.
Recognize and reward excellent performance.
Engage in employee development through team-building events and initiatives to close outstanding items.
Risk and Control (30%)
Oversee the control environment and ensure timely updates and actions on control-related items.
Escalate unresolved issues to the Head of Reconciliations.
Cultivate a positive culture around 4DX and ensure commitment to actioning issues.
Develop problem statements for Cash Management GLs and implement corrective actions for timely resolution.
Ensure a 90% auto-match rate by tracking progress on Intellimatch-related GLs.
Demonstrate sound judgment and timely escalation in managing all applicable risks.

Qualifications
National Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Business, Commerce, or Management Studies (Required).
