About the Organisation
The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited is a parastatal company whose primary purpose is to distribute electric power to domestic and commercial end-users in Uganda, at and below 33 kiloVolts. This role was sub-leased to Umeme for a 20-year concession that ends in 2025.
Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is a limited liability company incorporated in Uganda under the Companies Act. UEDCL owns the 33KV and below voltage electricity distribution networks and all the operational assets associated with the business currently leased to Umeme Ltd. The company monitors Umeme Ltd and other Concessionaires in Uganda, directly distributes of power in Ten (10) territories covering over 86 rural and border districts, operates a modern pole plant at Lugogo, and executes key rural electrification schemes on behalf of Government of Uganda.

Job Description
Job Title: Store Assistant

Reports to: Store Keeper
The Company is seeking to recruit qualified, competent, and highly motivated Ugandans for the role of Store Assistant
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the Store Assistant include the following:
Primary Functions
To assist the Store keeper in providing outstanding internal and external customer service, stock management,
Responsibilities
Assist the Stores Officer in monitoring stock items in stores.
Assist the Stores Officer in receiving, recording and cataloguing all stock delivered to stores for custody.
Assist the Stores Officer in filing and keeping data of all items in the plant yard including poles and treatment chemicals.
Assist the Stores Officer in issuing materials as per requisition and instructions.
Assist the Stores Officer in preparing daily documentation of all receipts and issues.
Assist the Stores Officer in preparing monthly reports on stock management.
Participate is stores office budgeting process, use cost monitoring tools and inventory volume reconciliation.
Implement the procurement plan for the section.
Implementation of inventory management procedures and SOPs.
In-country focal point for CMMS, ECRIV, EMMS(SAP)processes.
Implement the for Routine Cycles counts and Annual Physical Inventory Plan
Prepare Monthly/Quarterly/Annual inventory Reports for the store keeper
Assist materials team to deliver materials supply & management strategy.
Participate in planning, execution and evaluation of the strategy and action plans for stores
Identify Risks within storage locations and propose mitigations
Compilation, review and recommendation of material wastes/Scraps for disposal
Material Coding and uploading codes in the EMMS.
Interact with QHSE team to agree on stores QHSE Management objectives and reporting tools.
Ensure proper management of inventory (network and non-network inventory, project materials & 3rd Party materials) in compliance with UEDCL approved procedures and processes and best industry standards.
Other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education: Bachelor’s degree or above.
Major: Electrical Engineering, Business administration, planning, Procurement and logistics, material management or the related. MCILT, CIPS.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years proven experience in materials team supervision with Operator background.
Comprehensive SCM experience with all disciplines required.
Knowledge:
Intensive knowledge of ERP(SAP)/ ECRIV/EMMS required.
Skillfully use of MS Office
Extensive knowledge of logistics.
Understanding of Electricity Supply chain
Knowledge of network and Non network materials
Capability:
Excellent leading, planning and communication skills.
Good understanding of culture diversity;
Excellent analyzing and problem-solving ability.
Good command of both written and spoken English.
Miscellaneous:

Excellent team player.
Ability to Manage disputes productively
High standard business ethics and integrity
