Job Description
As a Startup Finance & Equity Writer, you’ll create compelling, informative content targeted at startup founders, CFOs, employees, and financial/legal professionals. This includes translating complex legal and financial concepts into digestible blog content. You’ll work closely with subject matter experts, ensure factual accuracy, and stay up-to-date with industry developments such as crypto-based equity and alternative financing models. You will not subcontract work and must meet deadlines while producing high-quality content that aligns with SEO best practices and client brand voice.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Write blog and marketing content focused on startup finance, equity, and regulatory compliance.
Translate technical legal and financial concepts into clear, engaging narratives.
Conduct and incorporate interviews with subject matter experts in tax law, venture capital, and compliance.
QA content for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to editorial guidelines.
Stay informed on financial and regulatory trends affecting startups and venture-backed companies.
Manage multiple content projects on schedule.
Propose content improvements and strategies aligned with industry insights and reader engagement.
Use and maintain client brand voice and tone consistently in all content.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
2+ years of experience writing about startup finance and equity (e.g., 409A valuations, SAFE notes, pro-rata rights, etc.).
Strong ability to simplify and explain complex topics for various audiences.
Familiarity with cap table management tools and equity software is a plus.
Experience conducting interviews with subject matter experts.
Strong time management and communication skills.
Demonstrated passion for startups, venture capital, and financial storytelling.
Proven ability to write for both technical and non-technical readers.
Working knowledge of SEO best practices for content writing.
Positive attitude, openness to feedback, and eagerness to learn and grow.
Portfolio with 3–5 recent samples, at least 2 of which relate to startup finance/equity.
Preferred
Hands-on experience with equity management, venture finance, or tax law.
Understanding of crypto-based equity and regulatory implications.
Familiarity with investor relations and compliance reporting.
