Job Description
The Specialist: Quality Assurance is responsible for developing and executing tests to ensure code and capability quality. This role is responsible for reviewing business requirements and technical design documents and tracking quality assurance metrics to ensure adherence to quality standards. This role is responsible for designing and implementing tests, identifying flaws in the service flows and journeys
Duties and Responsibilities
Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to ensure adherence to quality standards
Design and implement acceptance tests for new features and products
Test and validate solution against technical and business requirements leveraging automation where possible
Work closely with the product team on design and development of new features
Identify, record, and monitor testing defects
Track quality assurance metrics
Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities
Manage content subscription queries as level two and level three support
Suggest improvements and solutions to products and UX

Qualifications and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or another related field
At least 3-5 years relevant work experience of with three or more years is in software quality assurance, testing, system analysis and/or programming
Experience of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes, with experience writing and executing comprehensive test plans and cases
Professional experience and knowledge of the Telecommunications industry preferred
Competency in UX principles and practices preferred
Competency in automated testing tools and scripting preferred
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
Technical design assessment and evaluation
End-to-end solution and software test design, execution, and validation, with management of testing scenarios across capabilities
Functional, and integration testing
Architectural element testing e.g. APIs
Performance and security testing
Automated testing and tools
Test report creation
Highly cross-functional and able to swap and perform adjacent roles at short notice
Flexibility to deal with changing projects and priorities in a short space of time
Strong creativity, analysis, and problem solving skills and ability to learn new methods and processes
Strong relationship building, persuasion, and collaboration skills that drives effective constructive feedback and support
Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to distil difficult technical concepts into simple and actionable practices
Strong time-management skills and comfortable working under pressure
Willingness to track, assess, and incorporate practice and technology developments into day-to-day working
Good understanding of the business capability / user journey, wider organizational goals, and desired product business outcomes
Understanding of both the current Telecommunications and digital services market and emerging business and technology trendsds
