Job Description
The Software Engineer will collaborate with a distributed team across the U.S., Canada, and international locations. The engineering team follows an iterative development approach, emphasizing quick learning and adaptation. The role requires working with TypeScript, React, GraphQL, Node.js, and PostgreSQL to develop and enhance the Outschool platform.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Work with Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, User Researchers, and Analysts to build high-quality products for parents, learners, educators, and partners.
Develop and maintain software solutions across the full technology stack, from frontend (React, HTML, CSS) to backend (GraphQL, Node.js, SQL).
Participate in requirements gathering, stand-up meetings, sprint planning, retrospectives, deployments, and on-call duties.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
3+ years of industry experience as a Software Engineer.
Proficiency in modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React) and Node-based applications.
Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
Strong API development skills using JavaScript/TypeScript.
Proven track record of technical project ownership.
Intermediate or higher proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, and listening).
