As a Software Engineer at Shopify, you will craft and optimize code that powers the world’s largest Rails application. You will build extendable products that enhance the entire commerce stack, creating impactful solutions that help millions of merchants thrive. Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable and maintainable software solutions for Shopify’s commerce ecosystem.
Optimize Shopify’s Rails-based infrastructure, improving performance and efficiency.
Solve complex engineering problems at scale, ensuring high availability and seamless merchant experiences.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship high-quality features at a rapid pace.
Continuously test, iterate, and refine software to meet evolving business needs.
Contribute to Shopify’s open-source community and improve developer tools.
Engage in Shopify’s digital-first work environment and embrace a fast-paced, ever-changing landscape.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in software engineering, preferably with Ruby on Rails or other backend technologies.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with complex systems at scale.
Experience building high-performance, scalable, and resilient applications.
Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-moving, and rapidly evolving environment.
A passion for continuous learning, innovation, and improving commerce for entrepreneurs worldwide.
