social media managers play a crucial role in building brand awareness, engaging with the audience, driving traffic and conversions, and ultimately contributing to the organization's growth and success in the digital space.

  • Content Creation and Curation: Developing engaging content for various social media platforms such as posts, images, videos, and stories. This includes writing captions, designing graphics, and editing videos.

  • Content Calendar Management: Planning and scheduling content in advance using tools like Buffer, Hootsuite, or native scheduling features within social media platforms.

  • Audience Engagement: Interacting with followers by responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner. This involves fostering positive relationships with the audience and addressing any concerns or inquiries they may have.

  • Community Building: Growing the organization's online community by engaging with relevant users, participating in relevant groups or forums, and fostering discussions around the brand or industry.

  • Analytics and Reporting: Monitoring the performance of social media campaigns using analytics tools like Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, or Instagram Insights. Analyzing data to identify trends, track key metrics (e.g., reach, engagement, conversions), and adjust strategies accordingly.

  • Social Listening: Monitoring conversations happening on social media related to the brand, industry, or relevant topics. This includes tracking mentions, hashtags, and keywords to gather insights, identify opportunities, and manage brand reputation.

  • Paid Advertising: Developing and executing paid social media campaigns to increase reach, engagement, and conversions. This involves setting up ad campaigns, targeting specific audiences, optimizing ad creative, and analyzing campaign performance.

  • Stay Updated on Trends: Keeping up-to-date with the latest trends, features, and changes on social media platforms. This includes understanding algorithm updates, new tools, and emerging trends in social media marketing.

  • Collaboration: Working closely with other departments such as marketing, sales, customer service, and product teams to align social media efforts with overall business objectives and strategies.

  • Strategy Development: Developing and implementing social media strategies aligned with the organization's goals, target audience, and brand identity. This includes setting objectives, defining KPIs, and evaluating the effectiveness of social media efforts.

  • Brand Management: Maintaining a consistent brand voice and image across all social media channels. This involves adhering to brand guidelines, creating on-brand content, and ensuring brand messaging is conveyed effectively.

  • Crisis Management: Being prepared to handle and respond to any crises or negative situations that may arise on social media. This includes developing crisis communication plans, addressing issues promptly, and mitigating reputational damage.

  • Not more than 3 years since they left university/college.

  • Must have basic understanding of the role.

  • Must be living in Kampala or willing to live in Kampala.

  • Must have a functional laptop.

  • Should have exceptional work ethic, people skills and willing to learn.
