Job Description
FanSided’s Soccer Content Writers will produce in-depth articles, opinion pieces, and analysis on their assigned teams or leagues. Writers can choose from a list of specific teams or propose additional topics for coverage. The role is ideal for those who want to gain experience in sports journalism while writing for an established media network.
This is a contractor role, meaning contributors are compensated based on article traffic each calendar month. The more they write, the more they can earn. Contributors are expected to pitch topics before writing to avoid duplication and are encouraged to explore different writing styles to engage their audience.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Write a minimum of one (1) article per month on assigned soccer teams or leagues.
Pitch topic ideas before writing to prevent conflicts with other contributors.
Produce high-quality, engaging, and insightful articles.
Adapt to different writing styles and formats to enhance content reach.
Stay updated on team news, transfers, and match performances.
Optimize content for online engagement and traffic growth.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Strong passion for soccer and deep knowledge of one or more of the covered teams or leagues.
Previous writing experience (preferred but not required).
Ability to produce engaging, well-researched, and error-free content.
Familiarity with digital publishing and SEO best practices is an advantage.
Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently while following content guidelines.
