Job Description
The SILC Field Agent is responsible for facilitating and supporting community-led savings and lending groups, focusing on financial inclusion, empowerment, and self-sustainability. This role involves working closely with community members to establish, train, and oversee SILC groups, fostering financial literacy, and ensuring compliance with SILC methodologies. The ideal candidate is community-oriented, has strong facilitation skills, and is passionate about supporting financial independence in rural or underserved communities.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Group Formation and Training: Identify and mobilize community members to form SILC groups, train them on SILC principles, savings, loans, and social funds, and ensure proper group structures and leadership.
Financial Education: Educate group members on financial literacy topics, including saving habits, budgeting, and loan management to encourage sound financial practices.
Monitoring and Support: Regularly visit SILC groups to monitor progress, resolve issues, and provide ongoing guidance and support to ensure adherence to SILC principles and successful operations.
Data Collection and Reporting: Gather and document data on group activities, member participation, and financial performance, and submit regular reports to program supervisors.
Capacity Building: Identify potential challenges and provide mentorship to group leaders to strengthen their capacity to manage group activities independently.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within communities.
Basic knowledge of savings and lending principles or community-led financial initiatives.
Prior experience in community development or microfinance programs is an advantage.
Ability to travel and work in remote areas frequently.
