Qualifications, Education and Competencies
All applicants must be: –
Uganda Citizens aged 18-30 years (Age must be supported by National Identity Card).
In possession of an O-level certificate with at least 4 credits (B or C) including one in English and a pass (D) in Mathematics.
Note: The B,C and D apply only to those under the New Lower Secondary Curriculum.
(University graduates and Diploma holders should NOT apply)
Physically fit.
Of good conduct with no criminal record.
How to Apply
Handwritten applications addressed to the Secretary Prisons Council should be delivered to the nearest Prison Units, or Regional Headquarter Offices not later than 14th March 2025. Applications should be accompanied with the following;
Three (03) photocopies of certificates/result slips
Three (03) photocopies of the National Identity Card.
Three (03) recent passport-size photographs.
A letter of recommendation from LC | Chairpersons of your villages endorsed by LC II and LC III Chairpersons of Districts of Origin.
Only shortlisted Candidates will be invited for interviews on the dates that shall be communicated.
Successful applicants should be ready to undergo a minimum of (09) nine months basic Prisons Officer’s Training Course.
Effective appointment into the service is subject to successful completion of the training.
NOTE: Presentation of forged documents or impersonation is criminal and shall be prosecuted in Courts of Law.
