Job Description

The Settlement Specialist will oversee all custody-related settlements, corporate actions, payments, client instructions, and reconciliations. The role includes responsibilities in money market operations, trade settlement, client query resolution, static data management, and billing. It demands strict compliance with procedures, accuracy in reporting, and a proactive approach to risk and customer service. The specialist supports business growth by providing excellent service and maintaining regulatory and operational standards.

  • Execute settlement processes for equity, fixed deposits, and income instruments

  • Review and resolve failed trades and process claims

  • Process corporate actions including mandatory and voluntary events, proxy voting

  • Manage account opening, amendment, and closure activities

  • Carry out client billing, invoicing, and monitoring of receivables

  • Handle payments, cheque processing, and clearing

  • Authenticate client instructions and maintain vault custody and records

  • Address client queries within 24 hours and manage inquiries proactively

  • Perform money market settlements for treasury bonds, bills, and offshore investments

  • Ensure risk management, reconciliation, and compliance with operational controls

  • Process trades and ensure timely and accurate settlements with exchanges

  • Support system updates (ACR, Ebbs), client reporting, and fee setups

  • Perform Client Due Diligence (CDD) and regulatory checks

  • Escalate operational risks, losses, and incidents promptly

  • Participate in team collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field

  • Proven experience in Custody Operations, Banking Operations, or Securities Settlements

  • Good understanding of financial instruments, market practices, and compliance requirements

  • Strong knowledge of operational risk, reconciliation, and settlement systems

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and client service skills

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and work under pressure

  • High attention to detail and analytical thinking

  • Team player with integrity and professionalism
