Job Description
Job Title: Senior Technical Advisor (STA) - Scale
The Senior Technical Advisor (STA) will provide expert technical support to programs focused on scaling Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) prevention initiatives. The role will encompass key aspects of program planning, implementation, learning, and documentation, ensuring the scaling process remains ethical, effective, and grounded in feminist principles. The STA will also promote collaboration within the consortium and with grantee partners.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Technical Assistance & Guidance:
Provide harmonized, creative, and effective technical assistance to program partners implementing scaled VAWG prevention programs, utilizing diverse methods like training, and remote or onsite support.
Guide partners in adhering to ethical scaling principles, ensuring accountability to women and girls, and promoting practice-based learning aligned with feminist principles.
Program Design & Refinement:
Collaborate with grantee partners to review and analyze program implementation, offering recommendations for refining designs and adapting scale-up strategies.
Collaboration with Research Consortium:
Work with research consortium members studying the program and generating evidence to inform ongoing work.
Review & Reflection:
Support partners in conducting regular reviews and critical reflections to extract practice-based knowledge and document experiences in an engaging way.
Learning & Knowledge Sharing:
Contribute to the Learning Partnership Team’s collective efforts by leading reflection sessions, documenting, and reporting on VAWG prevention initiatives.
Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including program partners, the WW2 Consortium, and Originators (if applicable).

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Person Specification:
Education:
MA in Gender, Development, Public Health, International Affairs, or a related field.
Essential Experience:
In-depth knowledge of VAWG prevention, best practices, and evidence-based approaches.
At least 7 years of experience designing, implementing, or evaluating large-scale VAWG prevention programs, particularly in the Global South.
Proven experience in Practice-Based Learning, documentation, and sharing of VAWG prevention programming.
Extensive experience in providing capacity building and technical support on VAWG prevention.
Experience in partnership management and consortia work is preferred.
Essential Skills & Competencies:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Fluency in English; proficiency in a second language is a plus.
Strong commitment to feminist principles.
High standards of quality programming, strong time management, initiative-taking, and ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to foster a positive organizational culture and embody Raising Voices' core values.
Expertise in providing technical assistance that promotes collaboration and balances power.
Deep understanding of accountability principles to women and girls.
