Job Description
Job Title: Senior Planner Technician

The Senior Planner Technician is responsible for achieving the project’s goals by effectively controlling and managing its progress. This role involves monitoring work execution, planning, and ensuring adherence to economic, technical, and legal standards. The Senior Planner collaborates in developing detailed work plans and ensures the timely and efficient completion of the project, contributing to its overall success.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Project planning and scheduling; Risk assessment and management
Budget estimate and management.
Preparing and implementing project plans.
To support develop, implement, and maintain procedures, means and tools to ensure the efficient organization and operation of the scheduling, progress control and reporting activities.
Support the Project Manager on site to track project progress and generate Executive reports for Management.
Understanding project specifications and developing time schedules and within the project budgets.
Understanding and meeting all contract requirements and should be able to notify the vendor on time incase of change of scope.
Negotiating with vendors and contractors to secure the best prices.
Attending and scheduling meetings as required and track outcomes and deliverables.
To support define (and update as necessary) a suitable Work Breakdown Structure complying with Project needs in terms of progress control, cost control and reporting, for all phases of the Project
Researching and providing estimates for projects.
Observing existing processes, analysing staff performance, and addressing deficiencies accordingly
Making recommendations or presenting alternative solutions to problems.
Assessing the sustainability and environmental impact of projects.
Reviewing government regulations and ordinances.
Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering/project planning and management or related field.
A Postgraduate degree in Project Planning and Management is an added advantage.
Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in similar roles, preferably in construction projects.
Experienced in the use of planning tools and techniques. Knowledge of planning software, preferably Primavera P6, Ms. Project, CAD, and GIS Applications
High level of computer literacy.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a high level of accuracy in calculations and design.
Ability to take direction, identify problems, develop solutions, and conduct analysis independently and in collaboration with others.
