Job Description
Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Trade, the Senior Officer – Trade plays a key role in optimizing trading operations, from product specification and procurement to distribution and sales. The role entails conducting market surveys, identifying and engaging clients, and managing supply chains to ensure efficient product availability. This position also supports the development and implementation of strategic marketing and promotional initiatives, ensuring high standards in product quality and client satisfaction. The incumbent is expected to utilize analytical insights to inform procurement, stocking, and trading decisions that align with the company’s strategic goals.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Define product specifications and identify suitable supply sources for petroleum products
Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure consistent supply of high-quality mineral products
Oversee and manage logistical processes within the petroleum products supply and distribution chain in coordination with stakeholders
Conduct regular market surveys and perform supply and demand analysis to inform procurement decisions
Identify and engage potential clients for bulk petroleum products and design strategies to meet their requirements
Develop and implement innovative marketing strategies, including promotional campaigns and new product development

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Statistics, Commerce, or a related field from a recognized institution
Master’s degree in any of the above disciplines or a closely related field
Experience:
A minimum of six (6) years of relevant professional experience, including at least four (4) years at Senior Officer level in a busy commodity trading environment
Additional Skills and Competencies:
Strong understanding of commodity trading and market dynamics
Analytical and strategic thinking abilities
Experience in quality assurance and logistics management
Strong communication, client engagement, and stakeholder coordination skills
Training in Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) principles is an added advantage
Age Requirement:
30 to 45 years
