Job Description
The Senior Legal Officer will be responsible for supporting and guiding the Legal and Compliance Officers, ensuring that Hollywoodbets operates within the relevant legal and regulatory frameworks. This includes overseeing licensing, managing compliance monitoring systems, reviewing contracts, and advising management on compliance-related risks. The role involves extensive coordination with internal teams and regulatory bodies, ensuring that policies, procedures, and practices are aligned with all applicable laws.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Oversee the work of Compliance and Legal Officers
Manage licensing processes across all operational regions
Prepare legal and compliance reports for senior management
Handle assigned legal and compliance projects
Review contracts for risk exposure and ensure renewal tracking
Monitor applications, approvals, and consents from regulatory authorities
Ensure continuous compliance with licensing conditions nationally
Liaise with regulatory authorities as required
Maintain and manage the compliance calendar
Draft professional reports and external communications
Advise management on legislative, regulatory, and policy compliance
Develop and maintain compliance frameworks and monitoring mechanisms
Identify gaps and recommend corrective actions to close compliance risks
Examine and mitigate business risk areas for regulatory compliance
Review critical policies for compliance and recommend improvements
Develop and execute annual compliance monitoring plans
Conduct internal compliance audits and monitor updates in legal regulations
Lead investigations on compliance breaches and recommend mitigation measures
Assist in preparations for external audits and independent reviews
Conduct research to ensure policy accuracy and alignment
Promote a compliance culture through training and awareness programs

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
National Certificate or Bachelor’s Degree in Law or related field
Experience:
3 to 5 years in a similar legal or compliance role
Desirable:
A Diploma or Degree in Law (preferred)
Solid understanding of gambling legislation and regulations
