Participating in formulation, review and implementation of policies, legislation, standards, plans and strategies for sustainable environmental management at the National level;

Planning, organising, implementing and reporting on environmental management programmes and activities in the Uganda Prisons Services;

Organizing and implementing sensitization and capacity building plans, programmes, strategies and guidelines for managers, staff and other stakeholders on the currently obtaining National and Regional environmental management strategies and initiatives;

Establishing and maintaining working linkages and collaboration mechanisms with relevant National and International Organizations to support environmental management projects, programmes and initiative by the Uganda Prisons Services;

Preparing and disseminating technical guidelines, booklets and other printed materials on environmental management standards, procedures and practices for the Uganda Prisons Service;

Providing technical leadership in supporting community-based initiatives on the renewal and sustainability of the natural environment;

Preparing and presenting technical/scientific reports to the management of Uganda Prisons Service and other relevant stakeholders;

Preparing and submitting work plans, budgets and performance reports to the relevant authorities for action;

Enforcing implantation of the national and Uganda Prisons Service actions plans on environmental management;

Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
