Job Description
The successful candidate will independently manage credit risk for a client portfolio, conduct detailed financial, industry, and economic assessments, and facilitate the credit sanctioning process. They will present risk recommendations to committees, manage post-implementation monitoring, and ensure adherence to risk governance and policies. The role also requires producing detailed monthly risk management information and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.

Conduct comprehensive credit risk assessments across the full credit lifecycle.
Represent Credit Risk in senior committees with analysis and recommendations.
Develop and present Monthly Risk Management Information to senior leadership.
Maintain accurate client risk data in systems and prepare technical risk documents.
Monitor covenant adherence and manage deviations proactively.
Track business performance and potential risks for early intervention.
Manage administrative, operational, and data integrity aspects of the credit portfolio.
Ensure governance by complying with legal and internal credit policies.
Support high-performance culture, offer improvement suggestions, and contribute to projects.
Foster collaborative relationships and adapt to dynamic banking environments.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Commerce, or related field (Required)
Postgraduate qualification such as CA(SA) or CFA is preferred
Experience:
Minimum 5 years in a credit risk environment
Relevant sector experience (Mining, Oil & Gas, or Project Finance) is highly desirable
Competencies:
Strong financial and analytical skills
Deep understanding of credit risk management and industry standards
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to work independently and manage relationships at various levels
Proficient in risk systems and tools
