Job Description

Reporting to the Lottery Operations Specialist, the Sales Manager will lead and develop the sales strategy for the National Lottery’s diverse products. The role will be instrumental in expanding online players, onboarding retail partners, integrating with B2B collaborators, and ensuring the distribution of lottery products through innovative and effective channels. The successful candidate will possess deep sales expertise, exceptional leadership, and negotiation skills, and be driven by results. They will apply data-driven insights to inform decisions, adapt strategies based on market trends, and ensure continuous performance improvement across the sales function. This is a leadership role requiring a visionary thinker who can inspire a team, set and exceed ambitious targets, and position ITHUBA Uganda as a market leader.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute sales strategies that expand the online player base and retail footprint.

  • Onboard and manage participating retailers and B2B partners.

  • Drive innovation in channel distribution and client engagement.

  • Manage the full sales lifecycle from lead generation to deal closure.

  • Set and monitor sales targets while mentoring and motivating the sales team.

  • Analyze market trends and sales data to refine strategies and identify growth opportunities.

  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation within the sales department.

  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.

  • Prepare and present sales performance reports to management.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field (Master’s degree and/or CIM or ISMM certification is an advantage).

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing corporate sales with a track record of consistent success.

  • Experience in the Lottery or Gaming industry, and FMCG analytics is desirable.

  • Proven expertise in managing the entire sales process from planning to execution.

  • Strong analytical, sales, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong leadership, planning, and time management abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
