Uganda Heart Institute, is a specialized, public, tertiary care medical facility owned by the Uganda Ministry of Health. It is a component of Mulago National Referral Hospital, the largest hospital in Uganda, which serves as the teaching hospital of Makerere University College of Health Sciences.
The Uganda Heart Institute (UHI) is an autonomous government entity established under the Uganda Heart Institute Act, 2016. It is mandated to undertake and coordinate cardiovascular disease research, treatment, and prevention in Uganda. UHI is at the forefront of improving heart health in the country and is currently seeking a qualified professional to support its Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) Research Collaborative.

Job Description
Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the RHD Registry Coordinator will coordinate all activities related to the RHD/ACT platform. This includes managing clinical care data, ensuring compliance with policies, supporting site operations, and overseeing stock management. The role requires strong research experience, technical know-how, and a collaborative spirit to work with diverse healthcare teams.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Coordinate implementation and expansion of the RHD/ACT platform at UHI
Ensure adherence to RHD data security protocols, procedures, and policies
Plan and deliver departmental training sessions on the ACT platform and RHD registry
Provide leadership and coordination across UHI and affiliated RHD registry sites
Oversee clinical care services, data entry, and patient follow-up activities
Prepare and submit timely weekly and monthly reports
Participate in meetings and collaborative team discussions
Assist in stock requisitions and ensure proper supply management

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management or Data Science
Valid Annual Practicing License
At least 3 years of experience in research
Strong interpersonal, communication, and report writing skills
Proficiency in computer applications
Valid Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certificate
