Job Description
Job Title: Relationship Manager Corporate Banking
Organisation: I&M Bank Uganda
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Reports to: Head of Corporate Banking
To source credible business proposals and deposits/liabilities customers as well as manage existing bank relationships to meet the set business targets and grow the business.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Business Growth
Acquisition of profitable new clients to achieve defined sales targets in liabilities and assets to grow market share in line with the bank’s strategic direction.
Grow and develop a clean customer Data Base in line with the overall objectives and targets of the Bank by compiling monthly, quarterly and annual reports for the purposes of measuring growth against the target.
Drive the deposit growth and ensure the loan accounts are funded.
Manage assigned credit portfolio and monitor the quality of existing credit relationships on a continuous basis.
Review, analyse and screen applications for credit based on the Bank’s credit risk procedures.
Follow up with valuers and insurance agents.
Write memos for excesses, facility amendments and exceptions.
Relationship Management
Analyse and monitor market trends, interpret customer requests and provide integrated product solutions to particular customer needs in line with the bank’s policies and procedures and make appropriate recommendations for banks’ product development.
Review and maintain a comprehensive database of existing relationships/prospects and establish mechanisms for maintaining existing customers.
Carry out customer visits to identify new lending opportunities.
Build existing customer relationships by arranging care calls/visits.
Provide advice to customers regarding their balances, statements, account status
Product and Service Offerings
Market bank’s products in all sectors of the Ugandan market in line with the defined bank segments, set targets, and bank’s strategic objectives
Identify cross-selling opportunities and promote the bank’s various products and services to clients though eco system
Credit Analysis and Risk Assessment
Review applications for a credit facility (in line with the Bank’s policy) and make appropriate recommendations/decisions.
Manage assigned credit portfolio and monitor the quality of existing credit relationships.
Initiate and carry out recovery action on non-performing credit facilities on assigned accounts.
Evaluate the creditworthiness of business clients, analyse financial statements, review credit histories, and assess the overall risk associated with lending to a particular business.

Other duties
Follow up on files at approval and disbursement stage, at KYC/compliance stage.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Education Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Accounting or Commerce or its equivalent
A master’s degree in the relevant field is an Added Advantage
Professional Accounting Qualification: Chartered Institute of Management Accountants Advanced Diploma, Chartered Financial Analyst, Association of Chartered Certified Accountant qualification or Certified Practicing Accountant qualification.
Work Experience:
At least 5 years working experience in a commercially oriented organization with at least 2 years’ experience at Supervisory level
