Job Description
The Projects Graduate Trainee will assist the Projects and Construction Team in managing day-to-day activities at pipeline construction sites. The trainee will support planning, coordination, supervision, and monitoring of on-site activities, ensuring they align with technical specifications, timelines, and safety standards. The role also involves contributing to site inspections, progress tracking, document control, and interdepartmental coordination. This is a unique opportunity for early-career professionals in engineering and construction management to gain exposure to one of Africa’s largest infrastructure projects.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Track construction activities and ensure alignment with project schedules and deliverables.
Assist with site supervision and monitor contractor performance for adherence to standards and safety.
Prepare daily logs, progress reports, and issue tracking summaries during site visits.
Coordinate with various project teams, including engineering, HSE (Health, Safety & Environment), logistics, and procurement.
Identify and report construction risks or delays, and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
Attend site meetings, take minutes, and follow up on action points.
Review construction documents such as method statements, ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans), and permits.
Assist in updating construction schedules and tracking resources and key activities.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Strong interest in construction, infrastructure project management, or civil engineering.
Willingness to travel and work at construction sites in field conditions.
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.
Proactive attitude, good communication, and strong problem-solving skills.
Basic knowledge of construction processes, scheduling, and safety protocols is an advantage.
