Job Description
The Procurement Officer will coordinate the procurement of supplies and equipment for supported heat units and program activities will be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient functioning of all procurement and activities of the project
Duties and Responsibilities
Procurement Planning: Developing and implementing procurement plans and strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
Supplier Management: Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, negotiating terms, and maintaining relationships with vendors.
Tendering Process: Overseeing the preparation and issuance of tenders, ensuring compliance with procurement guidelines, and conducting bid evaluations.
Contract Management: Drafting and managing contracts, ensuring that all terms and conditions are met, and addressing any issues that arise during the contract period.
Compliance and Reporting: Ensuring adherence to procurement policies and procedures, and preparing reports on procurement activities and performance.
Budget Management: Monitoring procurement budgets and ensuring cost-effective purchasing decisions.
Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborating with other departments to understand their procurement needs and provide support throughout the procurement process.
Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of procurement transactions and documentation for audit purposes.

Qualifications and Competencies
A Bachelor's degree in Procurement and Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) can be advantageous.
Professional Experience:
Several years of experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain management. Experience in the non-profit or academic sector can be beneficial.
Knowledge and Skills:
Procurement Regulations: Strong understanding of procurement laws, policies, and best practices.
