Procurement Officer job at Kijani Forestry
Kijani Forestry
Developing procurement plans and strategies to meet the organization's needs, including forecasting demand, assessing market conditions, and identifying opportunities for cost savings or process improvements.
Review company purchases and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
Cultivate and manage relationships with vendors.
Analyze pricing trends and market conditions to inform procurement decisions.
Lead sourcing events and negotiate contracts with suppliers.
Stay updated on industry trends to enhance procurement strategies.
Support the development of new policies and procedures to drive savings.
Monitor and evaluate savings against targets.
Lead research efforts to validate savings projections and improve supplier negotiations.
Assist in selecting appropriate suppliers, ensuring ethical purchasing standards.
Maintain contracts with vendors and review inventory as required.
Monitor delivery times and resolve order discrepancies.
Collaborate with finance department for timely invoice submission.
Maintain organized procurement documentation and ensure accuracy.
Identify and report potential risks in the procurement process.
Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address contractual issues.
Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience.
Experience in a fast-paced/ startup environment is desired but not essential.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Leadership and team management experience.
