The hospital is recognized as a global leader in minimally invasive, shuntless treatment for hydrocephalus, a procedure pioneered by its founding medical director, Dr. Benjamin Warf . Job Description
The Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing patient counseling, managing medication therapy, ensuring safety and compliance with pharmaceutical protocols, inventory management, clinical support, participation in departmental and spiritual activities, and contributing to research and continuing professional development.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Medication Dispensing & Counseling:
Interpret physician prescriptions and dispense appropriate medications.
Provide guidance on medication use, side effects, and dosage.
Ensure patients/caretakers understand treatments.
Patient Medication Therapy Management:
Monitor therapies, manage drug-related issues, and optimize therapy.
Reconcile medication lists and handle medication-related queries.
Supervisory Functions:
Assist in hiring, training, and performance appraisal of pharmacy staff.
Serve on the drugs and therapeutics committee.
Medication Safety & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with Ministry of Health and international standards.
Develop and implement pharmaceutical policies and protocols.
Inventory Management:
Oversee inventory levels, ensure proper ordering and storage.
Collaborate with logistics and finance to maintain stock levels.
Clinical Support & Research:
Participate in clinical rounds and contribute to clinical research.
Support development of clinical protocols and guidelines.
Participation in Meetings:
Attend departmental and co-worker meetings as scheduled.
Professional Development & Spiritual Ministry:
Engage in continuous learning and hospital spiritual programs.
Occupational Health & Safety:
Comply with safety policies and practices in daily work.
Other Duties:
Perform any other official duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
Valid Pharmacist license.
Hospital/clinical pharmacy experience preferred.
Strong knowledge in pharmacotherapy and clinical pharmacy practices.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Experience dealing with donors, NGOs, and government officials is an added advantage.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
High integrity, creativity, and adaptability.
