The Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) is a statutory body established under Section 9 of the Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production Act 2013, and in line with the National Oil and Gas Policy for Uganda which was approved in 2008. The PAU’s mandate is to monitor and regulate the exploration, development and production, together with the refining, gas conversion, transportation and storage of petroleum in Uganda. This includes ensuring that petroleum operations in Uganda are carried out in accordance with the relevant laws, regulations, guidelines, statutes and in line with international best practice for the petroleum industry.

Job Description
Job Title: Petroleum Officer - Pipeline
Organisation: Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU)
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
To monitor and regulate the development and operation of pipelines and other transmission modes for petroleum to ensure facilities are designed, constructed, operated, and maintained in a safe and secure manner.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Monitor and regulate all activities related to development and operation of petroleum pipelines
Review and evaluate plans and engineering designs related to development and operation of pipelines and related facilities
Participate in the preparation of documentation and review of periodic progress reports and submissions
Contribute to the development and implementation of operational guidelines and manuals for petroleum pipelines.
Undertake a review of technical reports submitted by licensees for petroleum pipelines and related facilities.
Provide technical support in the review of the country’s legislation for petroleum pipeline operations
Review and evaluation of codes and standards for pipelines and related facilities.
Maintain records of pipeline activities.
Facilitate the administration agreements and contracts related to petroleum pipelines.
Undertake any other assignments as may be directed from time to time

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
A Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Engineering or Physical Sciences.
Required experience:
Three (3) years of relevant working experience.
Skills and Competencies
Risk Management.
Analytical skills
Innovative
High level of integrity
Communication and report writing skills
Interpersonal skills.
