About the Organisation
Raising The Village works to end extreme poverty by eliminating immediate barriers of scarcity, nurturing income generation activities and building local capacity, while moving communities toward economic self-sufficiency. We partner with some of the most remote and impoverished communities in Sub-Saharan Africa. These “last mile” villages have limited access to basic services including health and water, operating outside of the economic pyramid. Partner villages survive on household incomes as low as $0.10/day. At these levels, families subsist without a safety net and are pushed back further into extreme poverty by circumstances and susceptible to the smallest of shocks including family illness, poor harvest or inflation.
At Raising The Village (RTV), we are dedicated to eradicating ultra-poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa. As a dynamic and rapidly growing international development organization, we've assembled a team of over 250 passionate individuals in Uganda, alongside additional professionals in North America, Rwanda and DRC. Together, we're committed to elevating communities out of ultra-poverty by implementing innovative solutions and leveraging advanced data analytics to drive impact.
To date, our holistic approach has positively impacted over 1,000,000 lives progressively since 2012, and we're poised to reach even greater milestones, aiming to assist one million individuals annually by 2027. Our journey of growth and success is made possible by the invaluable support of our global partners who share our vision and belief in sustainable change.
