Job Description
The Paediatric Surgeon will be responsible for performing and managing paediatric surgical procedures, supervising and training local medical staff, participating in post-operative care, maintaining patient records, and contributing to clinical research. The role demands collaboration with the Medical Coordinator and other medical personnel, adherence to hospital guidelines, and full participation in day-to-day activities across operating theatres, paediatric ICU, and wards. The surgeon will also assist in clinical decision-making and emergency responses and oversee the scheduling of local surgical staff.

Perform and manage paediatric surgical procedures independently and collaboratively.
Provide postoperative treatment and ongoing patient management.
Supervise and support local surgical staff and contribute to their continuous training.
Participate in clinical research and maintain accurate clinical records.
Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to ensure patient care quality.
Organize staff schedules to guarantee 24/7 surgical coverage.
Ensure adherence to hospital admissions criteria, protocols, and treatment standards.
Assist in preparing and delivering specific teaching sessions for local staff.
Respond to intra-hospital emergencies as required.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Medical Degree with specialization in Paediatric Surgery.
Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in Paediatric Surgery hospitals.
Proven surgical case history signed by hospital management.
Certificates of hospital positions held (clinical and non-academic).
Ability to work in resource-limited settings.
Strong team collaboration, leadership, and training skills.
Commitment to a 6-month mission (with leave at the end of the mission).
