Job Description
The Operations Analyst will support FIG (Financial Institutions Group) Upstream and Advisory projects by executing administrative and analytical functions across business lines and client projects. Responsibilities will range from financial analysis and research to project coordination and donor reporting. The analyst will also be tasked with budget management, client deliverable standardization, and supporting the implementation of strategic practice group objectives. This position requires excellent analytical skills, proficiency in financial tools, and a sound understanding of the financial sector.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Business Development Support
Conduct desk research and analysis on market landscapes in East & Southern Africa
Create financial models and conduct budget analyses for projects
Support project and client diagnostics, presentations, and reporting
Organize scoping/appraisal missions and prepare related documentation
Draft proposals, concept notes, and implementation plans
Assist with client due diligence, IDG reporting, and procurement of consultants
II. Portfolio Management Support
a. Project Support
Track key performance indicators and project timelines
Prepare project supervision and completion reports
Support data gathering, evaluations, and knowledge-sharing events
Draft donor reports and prepare briefs, meeting notes, and presentations
b. Finance and Budgeting
Monitor and update project budgets and financial reports
Interface with finance teams for fee collection and invoice submission
Ensure accurate cost allocation and monitor trust fund spending
Support the establishment of new trust funds and charge codes
III. Practice Group Support
Assist with strategy development and project implementation
Standardize client deliverables and enhance content quality
Ensure timely submission of project documentation (CNs, IPs, PSRs, etc.)

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of relevant experience (preferably with consultancies, development institutions, or financial institutions)
Technical knowledge of the financial sector; experience with banking or financial infrastructure is advantageous
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills
Excellent communication and writing skills
Fluency in English is required; French is an added advantage
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Familiarity with research tools like Factiva, IBM, Bloomberg, EIU, etc.
