Job Description
As an Open-Source Machine Learning Engineer at Hugging Face, you will improve the machine learning ecosystem by working with top open-source libraries including Transformers, Datasets, and Accelerate. Your work will involve developing features, resolving issues, and engaging with a global community of ML researchers, practitioners, and developers. You'll also help users contribute to and utilize Hugging Face tools effectively. The role is designed to align your interests with impactful projects, fostering a collaborative and mission-driven environment.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and improve open-source machine learning libraries (e.g., Transformers, Datasets, Accelerate)
Engage with and support the ML/AI open-source community
Collaborate with internal teams and external contributors on impactful AI tools
Support users via GitHub, Slack, and community forums
Advocate for accessible and inclusive AI practices
Contribute to documentation, tutorials, and best practices to increase adoption and understanding of Hugging Face libraries

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Passion for open-source and machine learning
Strong software engineering skills and familiarity with Python
Experience contributing to or using open-source ML libraries
Excellent communication and community engagement skills
Familiarity with Hugging Face libraries is a plus
