Officer Broadcasting Compliance job at Uganda Communications Commission (UCC)
Job Description
To perform technical compliance assessments, including monitoring, investigation, inspection, and testing of broadcast infrastructure, services, and equipment to ensure compliance with the UCC Act, regulations, and other regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assess the technical compliance of broadcasting installations and services against the Communications Act, regulations, frameworks, guidelines, license provisions, requirements and standards.
Facilitate the involvement of regional offices and other stakeholders in activities and processes related to compliance measurements and inspections of broadcast installations, services, and equipment.
Evaluate the utilisation of local channel numbering resources to ensure compliance with standards and authorisation terms and conditions within applicable frameworks.
Conduct market surveillance for broadcast infrastructure, services, and equipment following relevant frameworks, standards, and tools.
Ensure the database on local channel numbers, broadcast infrastructure remains current, precise and easily accessible.
Contribute to the development and implementation of tools and systems that streamline the technical regulation of broadcasting infrastructure and services.
Maintain flexibility to accommodate any other duties assigned by the line supervisor from time to time.

Qualifications and Competencies
Bachelor's degree in electrical/telecommunications engineering or a related field.
Membership with the Uganda Institute of Professional Engineers (UIPE).
Working Experience
Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Technical
Technical knowledge of broadcasting engineering.
Ability to perform assessments and inspections under guidance.
Ability to undertake systematic analysis of technical information and contribute to strategic thinking.
Behavioural
Open to change and flexible in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) and openness in sharing information.
