Officer Broadcasting Authorisation job at Uganda Communications Commission (UCC)
Uganda Communications Commission (UCC)
To conduct technical evaluations of broadcast license applications, equipment authorisation applications and numbering resources following the Communication Act, UCC policies, UCC objectives, standards and international best practices.
Process broadcast infrastructure applications in compliance with relevant frameworks and standards.
Manage the processing and accessibility of accurate information related to logical channel numbering resource applications to support billing, compliance assessment and other UCC processes.
Ensure databases on broadcast infrastructure, license applications, and equipment type approval reviews remain up to date, accurate, and easily accessible.
Provide input for the development and implementation of tools and systems to streamline the assessment of applications for broadcast licenses and authorisations.
Execute measures and activities to ensure the efficient functioning of systems, tools, and equipment utilised for broadcast infrastructure authorisations and technical assessments.
Maintain flexibility to accommodate any other duties assigned by the line supervisor from time to time.

Bachelor's degree in telecommunications engineering, electrical engineering or a related field.
Membership with the Uganda Institute of Professional Engineers (UIPE).
Working Experience
Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Technical
Technical knowledge of broadcasting engineering and seeks to develop herself/himself professionally.
Ability to perform assessments and inspections under guidance.
Ability to undertake systematic analysis of technical information and contribute to strategic thinking.
Behavioural
Open to change and flexible in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) and openness in sharing information.
Initiative, trustworthy and upholds organisational and ethical norms.
