Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Project planning and Implementation
Develop work-plans with VHTS for active case-finding at Community level
nutrition assessments at the health facility and in community outreach activities; enrol beneficiaries in nutrition programs as per project guidelines
Take lead in conducting Nutrition Status Assessment using anthropometric assessment tools for clients attending Targeted Supplementary Feeding Programme (TSFP) to ensure those with MAM are identified for support.
Conduct health and Nutrition Education with support of Nutrition Officers on clinic days
Distribute Nutritious Foods to MAM clients
Lead follow-up of clients who miss appointments with support of VHTs
Carry out home visits to follow up on discharged patients to ensure adherence to advice
Capacity Building and Training
Conduct training for VHTs on Nutrition Assessments, reporting and referrals
Support the SBCC Officer in rolling-out curriculum for care group model
Build the capacity of community health staff in nutritional screening, case detection and referrals
Project Documentation and reporting
Prepare weekly, monthly and activity reports for targeted supplementary feeding programme and Maternal and Child Health Nutrition (MCHN)
Ensure the security of food and related nutrition supplies, including taking precautions to avoid damages in the store
Maintain proper record of food items and provide accountability

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position
Diploma in Human Nutrition, Dietetics or related field is required
Minimum 1 year of nutrition field experience with a busy project implementing IMAM is required
Experience implementing Targeted Supplementary Feeding Programme and experience in Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition Programme is and added advantageEnglish language proficiency and professional license is added advantage
Skilled in conducting nutritional anthropometric assessments and managing nutrition cases
Skilled in presenting complex information at an appropriate level to an individual or group
Skilled in report writing
Skilled at using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook to write reports
A good command of both written and spoken English
