Job Description
This role requires a qualified Millwright to join the dynamic team at QPro Feeds in Vrede. The successful candidate will ensure optimal functioning of machinery and equipment within the manufacturing environment, while adhering to safety standards. The role involves proactive maintenance, efficient problem-solving, and supporting operations during breakdowns to reduce downtime and enhance productivity.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
Work with transmission and distribution equipment.
Fabricate and fit parts for machines and related equipment.
Ensure high equipment availability and reduce breakdowns.
Respond to plant breakdowns and assist after-hours when needed.
Conduct planned preventative maintenance using OnKey (PRAGMA).
Manage and update critical spares inventory.
Compile monthly maintenance and breakdown reports.
Perform accurate technical measurements.
Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Requirements:
Qualified Millwright (N3)
Valid Millwright Trade Certificate (QCTO or SETA-accredited institution)
At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or agricultural environment
Experience in welding/tacking
Basic math and measurement skills
Ability to read technical drawings
Sound knowledge of OHS Act
Medically fit
Willingness to work shifts and standby duty
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Mechanical experience
Wireman’s license
Computer literacy in Windows and PLC programming
Experience with PLCs and VSDs (especially Allen Bradley)
Familiarity with high-voltage systems
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure and extended hours
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Team player with initiative
