Job Description
Job Title: Midwife
Organisation: Nurture Africa (NA)
Duty Station: Wakiso, Uganda
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Labor Support: Provide emotional support and guidance during labor, monitor progress, and help with decision-making.
Postnatal Care: Ensure the physical and emotional health of the mother and baby, including support with feeding and caring for the baby.
Prenatal Care: Assist with antenatal assessments and prenatal care for expectant mothers.
Health Screening: Provide periodic health screenings.
Transfer of Care: Facilitate the transfer of care to another health facility when necessary.
Family Planning: Engage in activities that promote family planning and proper nutrition.
High-Risk Pregnancies: Identify high-risk pregnancies, make referrals to doctors and other medical specialists, and arrange and provide parenting and health education.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
A Diploma in Midwifery.
A minimum of two years’ experience working in a similar role in a busy setting.
