Job Description
The Mid-Level AI Engineer will play a critical role in implementing Microsoft’s AI capabilities across the enterprise. Responsibilities include technical discovery, AI proof-of-concept development, troubleshooting, system integration, and optimization of AI copilots. The role will also involve collaboration with internal teams, technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and supporting AI governance standards. This is a remote contract position with a competitive hourly rate and benefits for W2 consultants.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Implement and configure Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio capabilities
Develop technical discovery and proof-of-concept AI use cases
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Microsoft's AI features
Build reusable components and templates for AI projects
Integrate AI capabilities with enterprise systems
Create and optimize AI copilots for specific business functions
Implement conversational AI experiences using natural language processing
Participate in technical workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions
Document technical solutions and implementation methods
Collaborate with teams to resolve platform issues
Support AI governance and best practices implementation

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Required:
5+ years of software development and engineering experience
1+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio or Azure AI Studio
Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services
Familiarity with enterprise software implementations
Knowledge of Azure App Services and Functions
System integration experience in Microsoft environments
Understanding of natural language processing and prompt engineering
Experience with Azure OpenAI Service
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred:
Microsoft certifications in AI or Azure services
Familiarity with AI governance principles
Experience with Power Platform development
Basic knowledge of data science concepts
API integration experience
Knowledge of conversational interface design
