ST. Mary's Hospital Lacor
Installing, inspecting, testing, and maintaining medical gas systems, including pipelines, valves, regulators, alarms, and other related equipment, in compliance with regulatory standards and manufacturer specifications.
Installation and Maintenance: Installing, inspecting, testing, and maintaining medical gas systems, including pipelines, valves, regulators, alarms, and other related equipment, in compliance with regulatory standards and manufacturer specifications.
Repair and Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and repairing malfunctions or leaks in medical gas systems, as well as troubleshooting issues with pressure, flow, or purity of gases.
Quality Control: Conducting routine inspections and tests to verify the integrity and performance of medical gas systems, including pressure tests, leak tests, and purity tests for gases such as oxygen and nitrous oxide.
Documentation: Keeping accurate records of inspections, tests, maintenance activities, repairs, and any other relevant information related to medical gas systems, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Emergency Response: Responding promptly to emergency situations involving medical gas systems, such as gas leaks or pressure fluctuations, and implementing appropriate safety measures to protect patients, staff, and visitors.
Compliance: Ensuring that medical gas systems comply with all applicable regulations, codes, and standards, such as those set forth by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the American Society of Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), and the Joint Commission.
Training and Education: Providing training and education to healthcare facility staff on the proper handling, storage, and use of medical gases, as well as safety procedures and protocols for responding to gas-related emergencies.
Coordination: Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, including facility managers, engineers, safety officers, and medical staff, to ensure effective coordination and communication regarding medical gas system maintenance and safety.
Upgrades and Expansion: Assisting with the planning and implementation of upgrades or expansions to medical gas systems to accommodate changes in facility layout, technology, or patient care needs.
Continuous Improvement: Staying informed about advances in medical gas technology, regulations, and best practices, and actively participating in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in the field.

A certificate or Diploma in Medical Gas Techniques or related field like HVAC, Mechanics, Electrical, Plumbing or any other relevant qualification
Experience in the field of at least 2 years even as a trained-on-job
A committed person with keen attention to detail, not more than 40 years of age
Good communication skills, teamwork ability and documentation called for
Flexibility of working hours that may include doing night calls
Good ICT skills are required
