Job Description
Job Title: Manager Wildlife Species Management
Organisation: Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA)
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Providing technical guidance in formulation of policies on species conservation.
Coordinating the formulation and implementation of species conservation strategies, guidelines and action plans.
Coordinating introductions and reintroductions of wildlife species as identified in the management and strategic plans.
Establishing and maintaining collaborative linkages to support recovery and growth of wildlife populations.
Providing technical guidance in the translocation of wildlife species during introduction / reintroductions to selected sites.
Coordinating research on species conservation.
Mobilizing resources to support species conservation programs.
Developing, coordinating implementation of work plans and preparing periodic reports.
Supervising and appraising staff.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
An Honors Bachelor’s Degree in either Zoology, Botany, Wildlife Health and Management, Conservation Biology, Natural Resources Management from a recognized University.
Master’s degree in any of the above fields from a recognized University.
Experience
At least nine (09) years relevant working experience, three (3) of which should have been at Principal Species Specialist from a reputable Organization.
