Manager MIS & Products job at Tropical Bank

Job Description

To support various business units with management information reporting and analysis to improve decision making and business performance.
To do product development, product performance reviews and revenue assurance to ensure that the bank meets its set profitability targets.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support strategy formulation and implementation by identifying and integrating new datasets that can be leveraged through our product capabilities and work closely with Business, IT and credit teams to strategize and execute the development profitable products.

  • Deliver accurate reporting on sales and portfolio performance of different products and segments.

  • Devise and utilize algorithms and models to mine big data stores, perform data and error analysis to improve models, and clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy.

  • Contribute to the enhancements of existing reports by use of dashboards so as to optimise the efficiency and effectiveness of reporting

  • Analyse data for trends and patterns and match them with various user departments and utilise various sources of data to provide meaningful insight to business to support continuous process improvement.

  • Review product performance and recommend enhancements, out phasing or introduction of new products.

  • Carry out revenue assurance to eliminate areas of revenue leakage.

  • Provide training and support to various users on MIS reports and products.

  • Monitoring the bank performance to ensure we are on Budget.

  • Revenue assurance to meet bank targets

  • Comply with AML/CFT/CPF policies and procedures, non-compliance of which shall be addressed as per the bank disciplinary processes.

  • Perform any other work related duties that you may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications and Competencies

Person Specifications

Qualifications

  • University degree (Honours) in Economics, Finance, Accounting or related business fields from a recognized institution

  • A solid understanding of MIS and products

  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, and programming languages (i.e., Java/Python, SAS)

  • Knowledge of MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint)

  • Understanding of Bank products and services and knowledge of the banking operation issues in Uganda.

  • Proactive and quick response to customers and employees’ queries;

  • Excellent interpersonal skills;

  • Fluent in the English Language and any other local language preferably Luganda particularly for explanatory purposes to Bank customers who do not understand the English Language.


Experience

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in with an established and demonstrable track record in business banking in a commercial bank

  • Dynamic, research-oriented group with several ongoing concurrent

  • Possess excellent sales skills

  • Possess excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills

  • A good background in general banking knowledge

  • An understanding of the credit granting process
