Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL)
Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) is a public Limited Company, owned by the Government of Uganda. UETCL holds the following operational licences; System Operator, Operation of the High Voltage Transmission Grid, Bulk Power Supply, Import and Export of Power and; Public Infrastructure Provider (for ownership and operation of the Optic Fibre).
Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement strategies for land acquisition that align with the organization’s goals.
Conduct feasibility studies and market research to identify potential land acquisition opportunities.
Site Identification and Evaluation:
Identify suitable land parcels for acquisition.
Evaluate land based on factors such as location, size, zoning, environmental impact, and cost.
Negotiations and Transactions:
Negotiate terms and conditions with landowners, brokers, and other stakeholders.
Prepare and review contracts, purchase agreements, and other legal documents related to land acquisition.
Due Diligence:
Conduct thorough due diligence to assess the viability and risks associated with land acquisition.
Coordinate environmental assessments, land surveys, and title searches.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to land acquisition and development.
Secure necessary permits and approvals from regulatory bodies.
Stakeholder Management:
Build and maintain relationships with landowners, government officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
Address concerns and facilitate communication between all parties involved in the acquisition process.
Project Management:
Oversee the land acquisition process from initial identification to final purchase.
Coordinate with legal, finance, and development teams to ensure smooth transactions.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to land acquisitions.
Prepare regular reports on acquisition activities, progress, and challenges for senior management.

Educational Background:
A bachelor’s degree in real estate, urban planning, business administration, law, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant professional certifications can be advantageous.
Experience:
Significant experience in land acquisition, real estate development, or related fields.
Experience in negotiation, contract management, and project management is essential.
Skills and Competencies:
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to assess potential land acquisitions and perform due diligence.
Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and conditions in land transactions.
Legal Knowledge: Understanding of real estate laws, zoning regulations, and land use policies.
Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with various stakeholders.
Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with stakeholders and preparing reports.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in documentation and transaction management.
Technical Proficiency:
Proficiency in using real estate management software and tools.
Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS) and other mapping tools can be beneficial.
Personal Attributes:
Integrity and ethical standards in handling sensitive transactions.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing project requirements and market conditions.
Certifications (Optional but Beneficial):
Certifications in real estate, project management, or related fields (e.g., Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), Project Management Professional (PMP)).
