Job Description
The Manager will oversee the bank’s credit portfolio to ensure its quality is maintained and improved. The responsibilities include monitoring the bank’s credit portfolio for early warning signs, developing strategies to manage delinquent accounts, ensuring compliance with credit policies, and liaising with branch teams to secure the bank’s interests. This position involves reviewing financial statements, valuations, and insurance policies, managing loan disbursements, and ensuring adherence to covenants. The Manager will provide guidance to the credit department and conduct compliance assessments, field visits, and audits to ensure that credit policies are followed.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Monitor and control the Pre-90 days delinquency of the bank’s credit portfolio to ensure quality maintenance.
Develop and recommend strategies for upgrading accounts from watch categories to normal status in line with regulations.
Prepare and review reports on deteriorating accounts for early warning purposes.
Collaborate with the Consumer Banking team to monitor scheme borrowers and track missing payments.
Ensure compliance with loan covenants and agreements with customers.
Check on expiring financial statements, valuations, and insurance policies and ensure timely renewals.
Conduct independent checks to ensure accurate loan information is captured in the system.
Generate early alert/watch accounts, arrange meetings, and track action closures with respective branches.
Provide leadership in portfolio supervision, field visits, and compliance checks.
Support the credit department to close compliance lapses identified by auditors or regulators.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, with at least 1 year in credit risk management.
Strong understanding of credit risk management principles.
Excellent numerical, analytical, and report writing skills.
Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
Proven ability to work as part of a team and deliver on departmental goals.
Strong customer experience focus and impeccable integrity.
Practical knowledge of core banking systems.
